Extend the Life of your Pool

Through our 22 years in the industry, we have found that no two sites are the same.  The earth in one persons yard me be made up of mostly sand and dirt, and the earth in another yard just a half hour away may be comprised of clay and sharp rocks.  In other cases, after excavation, we have found large root systems from surrounding or pre-existing trees on the property.  Some of these different types of debris in the pool site can be detrimental to the liner of an above ground pool.  Another issue that often plagues pool liners is the oxidation of the pool wall.  The pool wall will corrode over time due to the chemicals that the water is treated with.  Even though your liner will contain the chlorinated pool water, as the pool is used there will be some over-splash that will in time begin to corrode the pool wall and other bottom frame components of the pool.

  • Protective Construction Grade Plastic Sheeting:

If your yard is one that has any roots, rock, or other sharp debris, this can extend the life of your pool tremendously.  Construction grade plastic sheeting can be laid out underneath the frame of your pool prior to installing your pool wall or the setting of the sand pool base.  This will prevent roots, rocks, and or any other debris from reaching the bottom of your vinyl liner.  We have seen many cases where sharp debris or roots have punctured liners and not only ruined liners but also washed out sand bases and actually unleveled pools completely.  Ask us about plastic sheeting for your pool at the very beginning of or prior to your installation.  This can range from $50 - $150 depending on the size of your pool.
  • Protective wall foam:

The chlorine and other chemicals used to maintain and clean your pool are very strong and often times harmful.  We have found that often times even pools that may have a few seasons left in them fall victim to oxidation and or corrosion.  As the pool wall begins to corrode, it will create holes or corrosion blisters which are usually very small and very sharp.  These corrosion blisters can and usually will puncture holes in your liner.  At this point a liner change is usually not a solution.  A new pool will be necessary.  Ask us about protective wall foam to extend the life of your pool.  This can range from $140 - $200 depending on the size of your pool.
  • Backfill packages:

Once your pool has been installed it will need to be backfilled.  This will prevent the erosion of the bottom of your pool and a possible wash out of the sand base underneath your liner.  Your backfill, if done correctly, can also prevent the eventual corrosion of the bottom frame of your pool as well.  Over time as chlorinated water washes down the outside of your pool it can settle around the bottom components and frame of your pool.  Call our office to schedule your backfill with us. If the ground is level, there is a set price for backfill determined by the pool size.  If the property is out of level in any way there may be additional charges. Backfill includes 18 inches of stone around the perimeter of the pool.  Any additional stone width or to fill under decks will require extra material and additional charge for the material and labor.  Borders are available and are priced by size and amount of material needed. This can range from $350 - $1000 (approximately) depending on your pool and yard.
